As part of our celebration of National Youth Savings Month, Kirtland Federal Credit Union is offering three scholarships ($500, $350, and $250)* to our graduating high school senior members who will enter college or trade school in the fall of 2017.
To win a scholarship, the senior must write an essay on the topic "The best thing I’ve ever done with my own money”. In other words, assuming you’ve ever spent money that was either given to you or that you earned through chores or working, please describe the best thing you ever did with those funds. If help is needed, we suggest visiting BALANCE's Financial Fitness Program page, where you can find free informative videos, podcasts, and other helpful information.
A committee of impartial judges will select the winners; judges will be members of the Credit Union's Supervisory Committee and/or Advisory Committee (volunteers). Winners must provide contact and student ID information for their chosen college, university or trade school; the Credit Union will send payment by mid-June.
We look forward to reading your essay. Should you have any questions, please call (505) 254-4329 or e-mail email@example.com.
