Kirtland FCU Board of Directors’ Nominations Announced

The Nominating Committee has selected nominees to fill two vacancies* on Kirtland FCU’s Board of Directors. A mail ballot will not be sent unless more nominations are filed by petition. Standard petition forms will be provided by Kirtland FCU and are available from Diana Chavez, Executive Assistant by e-mailing or calling 505-254-4315. Nominations will be accepted until January 16, 2020. To qualify, nominees must:
  • Sign a statement that he or she is willing to serve, if elected, and provide a brief summary of qualifications and biographical data.
  • Receive the signatures of at least 1% of Kirtland FCU’s membership (those 16 years of age or older) by petition.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a member in good standing with Kirtland FCU with at least one share ($5) on deposit at Kirtland FCU.
Nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, will not be entertained. Results will be announced at the Annual Meeting.
*In accordance with Kirtland FCU by-laws, candidate information is presented in alphabetical order.

Lyn M. Kirkwood

KFCU Technology Governance Co-Chair; Team Kirtland Home Away From Home, Treasurer; New Mexico (NM) Chapter, Folds of Honor; NM Ethics in Business Awards – Selection/Steering committees, Sponsorship Chair; NM Bowl; Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Scoring Official; Albuquerque Aerostat Ascension Association past treasurer; Good Shephard Center Auxiliary; and St Jude CDA founder/past treasurer 
Formal Education: BA Business Administration; Program Management, Earned Value, Business, Cost Estimating, Financial Management, Laboratory Acquisition Management, Fiscal and Appropriations Law, and System Acquisitions Management Certifications. 
Current Employment: Retired following 30 years of federal service with the Department of Defense.
Past Employment: Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) DE Directorate – Program/ Management Analyst; AFRL DE Directorate – Chief, Human Resources; Airborne Laser System Program Office, Financial Management Analyst; 53rd Wing, Eglin AF Base, Florida - Technical Writer Multi-Command 3-1 Manuals/ Executive Officer, Green Flag Electronic Combat Exercises. Recipient of numerous awards including National Leadership Award from American Society of Military Comptrollers; AF Achievement Medal; and Outstanding Civilian Service Medal. Presented with Space Command Civilian of the Year and numerous Kirtland AFB Civilian of the Year/Quarterly Awards.  

Raymond V. Wick

  • Nomination: Nominating Committee
Volunteer Experience: Mr. Wick has served on the Kirtland FCU Board of Directors since 2000 and has been active in helping the Board establish strategic plans for growth and positive performance of the credit union. He has completed a number of courses provided for volunteers by the Credit Union National Association’s Volunteer Achievement Program (CUNA/VAP).
Formal Education: B.S. Physics, Thiel College; M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics, Penn State University.
Current Employment: President of Wick Research Associates and technical consultant to both industrial laser firms and research institutes.
Past Employment: After a thirty-year career in federal service with the USAF, Mr. Wick retired in 1996 as the Chief Scientist of the Space Technology Directorate, AFRL. He received the United States Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award and a Special Act and Service Award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
